How to overcome LIMITING BELIEFS and UNBLOCK your LIFE!

Do you have any idea how much power your subconscious mind has over you? According to George Kappas, it represents 88% of your mind compared to 12% from your conscious mind, so guess who is the boss?

If you feel that you are always sabotaging yourself, the problem might be in your limiting beliefs. So in this post I will tell you what they are, how they are formed and how you can break free from them.

Belief System: What is it? How is it Formed?

The first time I came across the concept about the belief system and how it forms your reality, was reading “The Seth Material” channeled by Jane Roberts, back in 2008, and it was very mind blowing and hard to understand! Nowadays the concept has become quite popular and much easier to understand thanks to practices like neuro-linguistic programming and coaching.

The majority of your belief system was formed during your childhood and it got shaped through your experiences as you grew up. It is formed by thoughts and opinions that you believe to be true, but most of them are not based on facts!

You have a belief system for each aspect of your life, and when you have a thought that you believe to be true, it becomes your reality! Very often some of these thoughts and opinions limit your potential, and that’s why they’re called limiting beliefs!

Some of them are quite easy to identify:

“I could never do that!”
“I’m too old for this!”
“I’m not good enough!”

Others might not be so obvious!

For you to understand better, think about reality as if it was a simulation, actually quantum physics says it is, and your beliefs are like softwares installed in your subconscious mind. They are responsible for manifesting your physical reality!

Even though they are insider your subconscious mind, they are not so out of reach, you can still become aware of them and work on them in order to improve your life! Now let me tell you how you can do that!

How to Break Free from your Limiting Beliefs

The first thing you need to do is to identify them! Chose an aspect of your life that you have difficulties and write down all the thoughts and opinions you have about it. Pay attention as well to the things you say to yourself and to other people. You can go beyond and search on your childhood memories the way you were conditioned to believe about this aspect.

Let me give you a global example about money, look at these limitings beliefs that are universal:

“You have to work really hard to make money in your life!”
“Money corrupts the man!”
“It’s better to be a good person and poor than rich and bad!”

If you have this kind of belief, I’m really sorry to inform you, but it will be hard for you to manifest money in your life!

After you write down everything that you need about the aspect you are working on, the second thing you need to do is to recognize that they are just thoughts and opinions that you believe to be true, but they are not facts!

And now you might be saying something like “how come it’s not a fact that earning money is hard? look how much poverty in the world!”. If it was a fact, it would apply to everybody, and I’m pretty sure you can find examples of people that earn money sleeping!

Once you recognize that it’s just a belief, that it’s not necessarily true, then you can proceed to the third step, which is to defeat the belief!

There are a few different ways that you can do that, one of them I just mentioned a while ago, look for examples that defeat your belief so you can have the proof that you need. And also, your brain has mirror neurons, so when you are looking at examples, you are actually learning from them.

Another way it to question, that’s the kind of work that coaches do, they help people to identify their limiting beliefs and through the art of questioning, they help to break free from them and build new ones that are more aligned with what the person wants.

It’s part of the coaching techniques to avoid asking “why?” and replace it with “what”or “how” because it helps the person to think properly about the answer.

Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, recognized they’re not true and have managed to defeat them, then you will be ready to the last step, which is to replace them by beliefs that you prefer according to the reality that you want to create!

There is a catch here, people are used to the idea that they have to see first in order to believe, and this works in the opposite way. Actually you have to believe first and then you will see that manifesting in your physical reality.

If you don’t believe what I’m saying, have a look at a guy called Robert Lanza, based on quantum physics principles, he defends the “Biocentrism Theory”, which says that the universe is a projection of our consciousness, not the other way around!

Do you know the expression “fake it until you make it!”? That’s what you need to do, you have to repeat to yourself the new beliefs, according to the reality that you want to create, over and over again until you start to truly believe them. Your brain and your mind learn through repetition!
