BURNT OUT? What causes LACK OF ENERGY?
It is completely normal to feel a bit down and demotivated sometimes, what is not normal is when these phases last much longer than they should, like a month or even more. If that’s happening to you, for sure there’s something going on that is taking your energy away! On today’s post, I’ll be talking about some possible causes to help you to identify the problem!
If it’s been a while that you feel constantly tired and without energy, maybe something serious might be happening and you should really seek for professional advice to rule out the probability of being some physical disease or even a problem like anxiety and depression.
Sometimes we also go through prolonged periods of stress in our lives, like big changes or even lack of money, but if that’s the case, I’m sure you already identified the problem and probably you are working on it already!
Now if you have checked all of it and there’s nothing obvious going on, then you still have to figure it out what is draining your energy, and it might be more than one causer! Read the topics I’ll cover today and pay special attention to the ones that resonate true to you, because most likely they are, and identify as many possible causes as you can!
Physical Causes
The main source of energy for the physical body is the food and nowadays it is highly processed and full of chemicals. If your diet is full of processed food, you might be lacking some vital force, (which you could get from fresh fruits and vegetables) and some micro nutrients as well, like vitamin D, B12 and iron. The lack of them might cause a lot of fatigue!
Speaking about vitamin D, you need sunlight as well! It is a clean and free source of energy! If you live in place where is cloudy and rainy for prolongued periods of time, for sure it will affect your mood and your energy levels!
Exercises are also important! Besides getting the good hormones that will make you happy and feeling good, they will get your energy moving as well. When you don’t exercise, your vital force gets stagnant inside your physical body, you need to move in order to get it flowing through your system so you can feel energized!
A good night sleep is vital! Not only for the recovery of your physical body, but also for your mind, your brain and even your soul because while you sleep, it travels back to the astral worlds in order to recharge the energies!
The last thing I’ll mention as a probable physical cause, is the use and abuse of chemical substances! That includes medication, smoking, drinking and drugs! If you use any of these or a combination for sure it’s going to impact your physical body and deplete your energies.
Mental Causes
You have no idea how much your mind impacts your body and your energies! I believe that most of the problems we have come from our thoughts and as most people don’t do mental practices, like mindfulness and meditation, they’re not even aware of what is going on in their inner world.
Your brain doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is imaginary, if the scenario is happening in your life or just in your imagination, it will have the same impact on your physiology! When you worry about the future or you feel afraid that something bad might happen, your body will have a stress response as if the situation was really happening in your life!
Can you see why is so important to bring your mind to the present moment? Because usually in the present moment we are perfectly fine and safe! If your mind tends to go to the future and always worry and fear about what might happen, for sure it will affect your body and deplete your energies!
Other mental patterns that might impact you negatively are complaining, negative thinking and the way you talk to yourself in your inner dialogue. We’re more inclined to criticize ourselves than to make compliments. For you to understand the impact it has on you, imagine that somebody tells you exactly the same things that you keep telling to yourself inside your head, how would you feel? Can you understand what you’ve been doing to yourself?
Soul Causes
There’s nothing more exhaustive than trying to be a person that you are not, and as a human being, you have to play many roles to fit in society. And sometimes, one or more of these roles are completely out of alignment with your soul, and when that happens, you lack vital energy!
This might happen in pretty much any aspect of your life and as the possibilities are many, I’ll talk about the two most common aspects. The first one is when the person’s job is not really aligned with their natural inclinations. When you work with something that is aligned with your talents, the pleasure generates more energy! Now, if you work with something that is not aligned with you, you will put a lot of energy and you won’t get much in return.
How do you know if your work is aligned with your soul? Simple, if when you are getting ready to work, you feel as if you were going to a funeral, you are in the wrong job!
The second aspect is when people get trapped in relationships that are not serving them well, maybe because of karma, human conditioning or belief system. MAny times when you put effort to make a relationship happen because you believe it is the best for you, you end up not seeing how much harm the relationship does to you!
Anything in your life that is out of alignment with your soul, trust me, you will know it in the core of your being! You might choose to ignore it for a while, but sooner or later, you will have to deal with it because when this happens, a lot of vital energy gets drained out of your system and that has serious consequences, sometimes even physical diseases!
